Christmas Party at Mother's Kitchen 2016

The Community Center Annual Christmas Party at Mother's Kitchen was a lot of fun.

We played games, sang songs, and enjoy each other company.  Mother's Kitchen was a great location to hosts our event and we are so thankful for their hospitality.

Kids had fun play with all the Christmas Decoration from the Christmas Tree Game

We got to meet two brand new members of our Community.

Lots of Kids have fun meeting each other.

Bret played music for us to sing along too.

Nov 28th Board Meeting Minutes - Dec Meeting

CCPM Board Meeting Minutes 11/28/16
Call to Order at 6:47
Members in attendance were Terri Sproul, Rosie Lopresti and Nanci Healy.
Minutes for the last meeting were approved by Terri Sproul and seconded by Nanci Healy.
Chairperson’s report: Terri has set up a community blog site for the CCPM. Monthly agendas  and meeting minutes will be posted on the site along with information on community events.
Treasurer’s Report: Rosie Lopresti reported a balance of $5,074.93. Items purchased today on the debit card are not included in the balance. Terri made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Nanci seconded.
Old Business: The 2017 calendar of events were reviewed.
Holiday Party is scheduled for December 3rd at Mother’s Kitchen. Preparations for food, games, music and decorations are in place.
New Business: Steve Flanders from the Palomar Observatory stated that a Star Party on April 29th could be held at the Palomar Observatory. It will be a good viewing night to see several planets.
Terri has received an application for insurance and we may expect a quote as early as the weekend.
The Palomar Mountain Community Church will be having their last service at the Fire Department trailers this Sunday.
Calendar: The next meeting of the CCPM will be held on January 6th.
Rosie made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Nanci seconded.


Nov Board Meeting Minutes

CCPM Board Meeting Minutes 11/04/16
Call to order at 6:40
Roll Call: Terri Sproul, Rosie Lopresti & Nanci Healy in attendance. Absent Tiffany Ewen & Bonnie Beckman. Steve Flanders from the Palomar Mountain Observatory was in attendance.
October Meeting Minutes: motion to approve by Nanci Healy & seconded by Terri Sproul.
Chairperson’s report: Our file to the Secretary of State for CA is okay at this time (check voided) and needs to renew in April 2017. Terri will attend Palomar Mountain Fire Board meeting on 11/5/16 to inquire status on buildings on Fire Department property. Terri purchased paper, printer ink & new cork board for community bulletin board outside of post office.
Treasurer’s Report: Given by Rosie Lopresti. CCPM checking balance is $5,243.27. Motion to approve made by Terri Sproul, seconded by Nanci Healy.
Old Business: 44 community members were in attendance at the CCPM/Palomar Observatory Star Party.  Very positive response from the community.
Holiday party is scheduled for 12/3/16 from 6-9 at Mother’s Kitchen. Terri to check with community members willing to provide music. An ugly sweater contest will be held & prize given to winner. Opportunity Drawing of a holiday basket will be held at event. Tickets 1for $1 or 6 for $5. Terri has made preliminary flyers for mail out. Rosie will purchase voucher from USPS on CCPM online account. Terri to mail flyers on Monday. Terri suggested active games to be played by groups. Rosie will make up trivia cards for each table as an ice breaker. Terri has Christmas carol sheets to print for event.  Board will meet at Mother’s Kitchen at 10:00AM on Sunday 11/6/16 to discuss logistics of party.
New Business: Terri is checking out options for insurance for the Board. Terri is looking into possibilities for a CCPM website. Terri handed out 2017 calendars. Mother’s day Tea Party is tentative on May 13th at the Fire Station. Community Potluck tentative for July 15th at San Diego County Park located on Crestline.  Food event tentative date of September 2nd at PMFD.  Board would like to cosponsor another Star party at Palomar Observatory. Movie night is an event we would like to continue. Locations TBD.
CCPM by-laws will be reviewed at the January 6th meeting.
December meeting will be held November 28th at 6:30 at PMFD.

11/06/16 Addendum: Terri, Rosie & Nanci met at Mother’s Kitchen. Layout for party discussed. Pascal was unsure of capacity for the restaurant. Mother’s has 43 places for table seating. Hopefully outside area can be used.  Mother’s has lovely decorations for the Holidays so limited need for decorations inside. Terri has strings of light if outside seating is available. Terri will check w/ DJ if patio heaters & outside fireplace will be available for use. Piano is available inside restaurant. Terri & Rosie to put together Holiday Basket for Opportunity Drawing.

August Minutes

Palomar Mountain Community Center Minutes 
August 5, 2016 
Called to order by Terri at 6:37 p.m. 
Second by Nanci 
Present: Terri, Nanci, Tiffany, Cliff Kellogg, Mike Pique, Steve Flanders, Linda Fortney 
Terri motions to approve previous minutes. Nanci seconds 
Bank account transferred to Terri and Rosie 
Secretary of State paperwork needs to be resubmitted. Not yet complete. Needs a physical address. 
Treasurer report excluded due to Rosie being absent. 
Statement not pulled. To be discussed at next meeting. 
September Music Event 
Liability insurance purchased to cover both boards, PMVFD and PPCC,through Eventhelpers.com  
$125 for the day for one million dollars 
The fire department was asked about borrowing all chairs and tables. 
Need check in section and to rope off check in section 
Vendors: Fire Safe Council, Glenn and his wife, Fire Chief, Kit Fox, CERT, LuLaRoe, Smokey Bear 
Admission: Check in table with tickets to be run by Rosie. 
Philly steak confirmed to arrive at 10:30 a.m. 
Fire department web page needs to be update with correct time. Terri will email them to have it corrected. 
Flyer for advertising: Mike wants a phone number added, Saturday to the date and the time of the event. 
Event confirmed for 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. 
Continuing with advertising with David Ross through TheRoadrunner, with Bonnie's written advertisement. 
Julian Pie Company willing to donate eight pies. Terri and Nanci will ask again for increase in pies. 
Advertisements will be posted in the post office, through Bonnie Phelps, and the Roadrunner. 
Tickets will be sold at Mother's Kitchen prior to the event. 
Ticket stubs will be given as a receipt with purchaser's name. 
Kids activities: Smokey Bear,rock painting 
Plaid crafts is donating paint brushes, paint, and modge podge for the event and kid's activities. 
Opportunity Drawing: The Prado donated a gift certificate. Bonnie confirmed a donation from the San Diego Zoo. Mother's Kitchen will be donating. LuLaRoe vendor will be donating. Observatory donating a private tour. Steve Flanders will write up a gift certificate to have approved. Philly Steak vendor will donate a gift certificate. 
Opportunity drawing tickets to be sold for $1.00 
Terri motioned for a Silent auction. Nanci seconded. 
Bathrooms will be $86 with no sink and $106.20 with a sink. 
Terri will check into handicap bathrooms. 
Rosie will check into face painting. 
Other ideas for kid's activities to include: Cereal box puzzles, paper plate masks, Smokey Bear coloring books, paper bag crafts 
Same band from last year's event to perform this year. Hand signals discussed for noise control. 
Star Party to be held at the old school house from 6-10 p.m. at the old school house. Dessert pot luck. Strictly community members only.
